School Families

Our children come from a wealth of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds. Many of our families have been in the area for many generations, and we also welcome many new families every year who are attracted to the area for its closeness to the Central Southport Business area, access to transport facilities, Griffith University, the medical and legal precinct, and the recreational activities that are in abundance in our superb beachside and broadwater environment.

The parents and children at our school value academic excellence. We also provide programs for 3 categories of Special Needs children who are fully integrated into our classrooms encouraging a dynamic of integrated social interaction and understanding.

We promote the active participation of our parents in our school community. We provide a morning tea at least once a year for approximately 70 volunteers who provide many different kinds of support for our school including:

  • Uniform Shop
  • Reading with children
  • Parents as community resource models for work being carried out in the classroom
  • a supportive Parents and Citizens Association

Parents are also encouraged to complete "Support-a-Reader" workshops which are run perriodically.
